Coinflip for SOL: House Flips vs Player Duels
The two ways to play Coinflip on Solacrash: instant flips against the house at 1.96×, or duels against another player where the winner takes the pot minus 3%.
Coinflip is as simple as it sounds: pick heads or tails, and if the coin lands your way you win. On Solacrash there are two ways to play it, and they work quite differently.
Against the house
Pick a side and an amount, and the coin flips straight away. A win pays 1.96× your stake. A fair coin would pay 2×, so the difference is the 2% house edge. You never wait for anyone, and you can flip as often as you like.
Duels against another player
In a duel you post a flip to the lobby with your side and amount. When another player takes the other side, the coin flips and the winner gets both stakes minus a 3% fee. Put in 0.1 SOL, win, and you get 0.194 SOL back.
- You can cancel an open duel any time before someone joins, and your stake comes straight back.
- Duels nobody joins are cancelled and refunded automatically after an hour.
- Your money is held from the moment you create the duel, so the other player knows it's real.
Which one is better?
| vs House | Duel | |
|---|---|---|
| Win pays | 1.96× | 1.94× (pot minus 3%) |
| Waiting | None | Until someone joins |
| Who you play | The house | A real player |
House flips pay slightly more and are instant. Duels are for the head-to-head feel of beating a real person, and the lobby shows who won each recent duel.
Who decides the result?
Nobody can pick it. For house flips the result comes from your own seed pair, the same system as Mines and Plinko. For duels it mixes a server seed that's locked in when the duel is created with a random seed from the player who joins. Neither side can know the outcome in advance, and the seeds are shown once the flip is settled.
