How Air hockey for SOL works

Air hockey on Solacrash is a real-time 1v1 game. Each player controls a mallet in their own half of the table, and the puck glides and bounces off the rails just like on a real table. Score in your opponent's goal; keep the puck out of yours.

Finding a game

Pick a stake of 0.01, 0.05 or 0.25 SOL. Quick match pairs you with the next player waiting at the same stake; you both get 15 seconds to press Ready. Or create a challenge link and send it to a friend. Nobody pays anything until both players have pressed Ready.

Controls

Move your mouse, or drag your finger on a phone. Your mallet follows, up to a top speed, and can't cross the centre line. On touch screens the mallet sits a little above your finger so you can always see it. Your goal is always at the bottom of the screen.

Rules

  • • First to 7 goals wins the pot.
  • • Games are capped at 6 minutes of play: whoever is ahead then wins. A tie goes to sudden death, where the next goal wins.
  • • After a goal, the player who conceded serves.
  • • Keeping the puck in your own half for more than 7 seconds hands it to your opponent.
  • • A dropped connection pauses the game for up to 10 seconds. Not coming back, or pressing Exit, loses the game.

Fees and payouts

The winner is paid both stakes less a 5% fee, straight to their balance, the moment the game ends. A 0.05 SOL game pays the winner 0.095 SOL. If the server ever restarts mid-game, both players get their stakes back.

Questions

How do I win money at Air hockey?

Both players put in the same stake. The first to score 7 goals wins the pot: both stakes, less a 5% fee. If 6 minutes pass first, whoever is ahead wins; a tie goes to sudden death, where the next goal wins.

Is it luck or skill?

Skill. There are no cards, dice or random multipliers: the puck follows the same physics for both players, and the only thing that decides a game is how you play. The server runs the table, so neither side can bend the physics.

What happens if my connection drops?

The game pauses and holds your seat for 10 seconds. Reconnect in time and play carries on after a short countdown. If you don't come back, your opponent wins. Leaving with the Exit button also hands the game to your opponent.

When am I charged?

Only when both players press Ready. Waiting in the queue, creating a challenge link or accepting one costs nothing, and a game where your opponent never arrives is called off with your stake refunded in full.

Can I practise first?

Yes. Practice games against the bot are free, need no account, and use the same table and rules as money games. Pick Easy, Normal or Hard.

Do Air hockey games count towards bonus wagering?

No. Player-versus-player games (Air hockey, Coinflip duels and Slither 1v1) don't count towards a deposit bonus's wagering requirement.
