Crash Gambling Glossary: Every Term Explained
Multiplier, cash-out, bust, seed, nonce, RTP and more: the words used in crash games and crypto casinos, explained in one line each.
Crash games and crypto casinos come with their own vocabulary. Here is every term you're likely to meet, in plain language, with a link to where it's explained in depth.
Playing crash
| Term | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Multiplier | The number that climbs from 1.00× during a round. Your winnings are your stake times the multiplier when you cash out. |
| Cash out | Locking in your winnings before the round crashes. |
| Auto cash-out | A target set before the round; the server cashes you out the instant it's reached. |
| Crash point | The multiplier where the round ends. Anyone still in loses their bet. |
| Bust | A round that crashes very low; an instant bust ends at 1.00× before anyone can cash out. See How Instant Busts Work. |
| Betting window | The few seconds before take-off when bets are placed. |
| Shared round | Every player rides the same round and sees the same multiplier at the same time. |
Odds and money
| Term | Meaning |
|---|---|
| House edge | The share of all bets the house keeps on average. 2% on Crash. See What House Edge Really Costs. |
| RTP | Return to player: 100% minus the house edge. |
| Expected value | What a bet returns on average over many tries. Negative for every casino bet. |
| Variance | How far real results swing around the average. High targets mean high variance. |
| Martingale | Doubling the bet after each loss. It doesn't change the edge; see the Martingale simulator. |
| Wagering requirement | How much you must bet before bonus money (or a deposit) can be withdrawn. |
Provably fair
| Term | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Provably fair | A system that lets you check a result was fixed before you bet. See Provably Fair, Explained. |
| Seed | A secret random value that a result is computed from. |
| Hash | A fingerprint of a value (here SHA-256). Publishing the hash commits to the seed without revealing it. |
| Server seed | The house's secret seed, shown as a hash before play and revealed afterwards. |
| Client seed | A seed you control on Mines, Plinko and Coinflip, mixed into every result. |
| Nonce | A counter that makes each game on the same seed pair different. |
| Seed chain | Crash's pre-made sequence of round seeds, each the hash of the next, committed in advance. |
Solana and wallets
| Term | Meaning |
|---|---|
| SOL | Solana's own coin, and the currency every Solacrash game is played in. |
| Lamport | The smallest unit of SOL: one billionth of a SOL. |
